Climbing and Paragliding at Rhossili
The South Gower cliffs offer a wide range of climbing opportunities and are well documented in the guidebooks, test your skills on routes varying from beginner level to difficult.
Hang gliding Paragliding
Rhossili Downs are reputed to be one of the finest sites in the U.K. for these activities both for participants and spectators. The area is a particularly good soaring site with the prevailing winds rising over the steep seaward side of the hill creating a powerful updraught relatively free of turbulence.
Kite Bugging
There is This sport is becoming more popular on Pembrey Beach, albeit in a restricted area away from the main access points and subject to National Trust bylaws and regulations.
Fishing
Excellent sea fishing around the Gower coastline all year. Try spinning for Bass or Mackerel in the summer months or maybe use a float and some Mackerel strip from the rock ledges. The sea gullies that abound the area between Rhossili and Port Eynon provide good fishing but also take a heavy toll on tackle. There is some coarse fishing in the area (15.7 miles before us in Gowerton) please ask a member of staff at shop/reception. For day-to-day fishing essentials, we stock rods, reels, hooks and lures, floats, line, swivels and weights, and a choice of frozen bait
Star Gazing Pitton Cross
If you have ever or never looked up at the Nights Sky to see the Moon, Stars or Milky way at Pitton Cross, Rhossili, Gower all are visible The wonder of the galaxy is enough to enthrall young and older minds wherever your telescope (or just the naked eye) might be perched, Wales is increasingly emerging as one of the best countries in the world from which to ponder its enormity. We are one of the darkest spots on Gower, even our lighting on site pushes light down to help give you a spectacular sight of the milky way and much more. So bring along your telescopes
